The other day I bought an unusual herb. I had been looking for this one for quite a while and was pleased to see it at last, in the Glastonbury market. I think it was called english coriander, but unfortunately I have erased every trace of the name on my computer. And now I'm not so sure, as I can't find this name at all in my famous tax-evading search engine!
The herb has obviously been split rather than sown, and looks like it might be low-spreading. It smells a bit like a cross between thyme and tansy, and has 2cm long, narrow, serrated leaves. Can anyone help in my rather hopeless quest?
    Thank you!

Nope. I found out it is English Mace, achillea ageratum. I'm not quite so keen on the smell, and am still experimenting how to use it. Next year you can all have a cutting!

So does southernwood of which I have a large bush, as opposed to the mace which is (still) tiny! Long may it grow, for I like real (though secondhand) wool for my clothes.

I found an excellent herb stall at Wells market last summer, wonder if it's the same company?

Yes, I saw that. I had it in my breakfast soup today, but found it had no taste. Maybe I should have added it at the last minute, like parsley. Try again tomorrow!

Yes, it's quite nice if you add it afterwards, cut very finely. [IMG]Am already getting addicted. Pity it's still so small!
