Discovered this year (behind mystery shrub #1) is this pretty thing: -



Any clues as to what it is?

Could it be some sort of currant?

 

Flowering currant (Ribes)

 

So non edible then Scrungee?

 

I've got one bush growing in a hedge that has a very sparse crop of berries. When I checked out if they were edible it appeared to be yes, but not worth bothering with and best left for the birds.

 

Lovely shrub not keen on the scent though , I've got a white one called 'White Icicle' just about to flower

flowering currant (Ribes Sanguineum) has always been one of my all time fav's, and i love the smell, its very blackcurrant-y even the leaves
