A man in our next road has a really unusual plant in his garden and he did tell me the name but I can't remember what it is and now he's moved so I'm hoping someone will be able to help me find the name with my description please.
Ok here goes...I'm pretty sure it's not frost hardy as the leaves are quite thin..the leaves are almost identical in size and look to a Loquat but thinner in texture...it's not a tree but if you can imagine Loquat leaves growing together on the ground in a bunch then that's what they are like....I can remember he said they brought them back from Jersey and that the name begins with an E...either Ec OR Ek...no flowers that I'm aware of but the leaves make a nice show.
So hoping someone will be able to put a name to the description.
    Many Thanks x

Hi PP, it's always a "dangerous" occupation trying to identify a plant from a verbal description, so I don't think many members of the gang will want to have a serious id attempt at it:dunno: :heehee: However, is there any chance of you taking a few good pics of it and then maybe we'll stand a better chance of helping.:coffee:

~I have to agree with Armandii PP as that could be 1 of allot of different plants..

Can you still get a photo.? Where does it grow, sun or shade? Dry or moist soil. Fleshy stems or woody? The list of questions goes on... ;)

Don't know much about Echiums but if it's just a bunch of leaves then it might flower next year, keep an eye on it.

Echiums (Echium pininana) usually live for 3 years or so, sometimes 2 years if it grown well. In it's first year it will grow it's leaves, and stem. It will flower in the second year. When it has flowered, the plant dies, however usually these self seed/spread all over the place.

It loves sun, and is stem hardy to -5C.
