    Wotcha, folks.

We're after a bit of colour for our front garden and came across this plant whilst out walking the brat in our local park yesterday.

Can anyone name this plant, and if so, how long it flowers for?

    Many thanks.

    Hi
Its an Azalea - Part of the rhododendron family I have no idea exactly which one though, there are so many varieties.
They like acid soil, grow well in partial shade.
Slow growing, they are in flower now and for the next few weeks but sadly dont do alot for the rest of the year.
    Hope this helps

    Thank you.

Oh well - can anyone recommend a partial shade colourful plant to give us colour over summer then?

    (crosses fingers)

The one in your photo is a Japanese Azalea, as wilroda says. For summer flowering you could try a deciduous Azalea. Nice, bright flowers and some varieties are heavily scented.
