Army Nurse, Dollar Princess, Springtime, Beacon, Winston Churchill, Sunray (variegated), Genii and Garden News are all hardy in my east facing front garden but I am not sure they would be hardy everywhere.:)

Delta's Sahra is the hardy blue and white one your thinking of Claire.

Has anyone had Delta's Sarah and overwintered it? Mine did not survive the winter. Very pretty color though.

Yes Liz it was planted early in the season and had time to root deeply, first year can be a bit dodgy with any plant they don't have time to establish it's worth putting a bit of straw around them in their first year and always plant them deeper than you normally would.

Apparently there is a strain called Star Wars which is hardy, about fuschias surviving over the winter or not-my Dad enjoys gardening aswell and he has the same problem. Some of those that are not supposed to manage, make it, and some of those that are, don`t!

    Its a mad world

Riccartonii is the shrubby one that can create hedges in the right location. I was on holiday in the Outer Hebrides this year and there was a six foot tall one in the garden of the cottage we were renting. Now that is what I call hardy!

I have a fuchsia star wars. Bought it almost exactly a year ago at the tatton park show. It flowered right through to the first frosts and has come back strong this year. think I could have done better with the pruning, but it's still good.
The flowers are like delta's sarah, but the middle purple bits change to pink.
Just nipped out for a pic to show you what I mean

The one on the left has just opened, the ones bottom right have been open for a while.
See what I mean about the pruning? They're all hanging in the soil :")

On this theme, I also have fuchsia Sarah Brightman. Label doesnt say if it's hardy and a google reveals very little. Does anyone know?
