Bought a packet of these seeds a while back, have grown them before but never managed to get them to fruit. White fly love them as I remember and the flowers dont seem to set till late in the season, a bit like the pepinos.
Has anybody grown these or managed to get fruit either here in the UK or abroad. [IMG]

    Pete,

They look like a cross between a sharon fruit and a tomato.

They're only an inch high at the moment, but they are perennial, so if they dont fruit this year, and I can keep them through the winter, there's always next year.
I grew a cyphomandra once, it grew like crazy up to 7 ft tall, with massive leaves, then it started to flower and spead out at the top.Got loads of fruit off of it but cant say I really liked the flavour much, perhaps its an aquired taste. [IMG]

Ladybird, I only grow out door tomatos these days. Their not as early as greenhouse ones but they taste much better. I grow marmande, have done for years and gardeners delight, tend to just leave them to get on with it these days. The less watering and messing they get the better they taste.

ok Pete my Totems are about 12",get too leggy in Greenhouse now, so out they go next week in tubs...grow much better outdoors.. same the Roma...love their colous deep red almost like a Cyphomandra....yes one acquires a taste to those, but Jam is gorgeous, from the tree, I just scoop out with a teaspoon...dipped in a bit of honey...lovely... ;)

perhaps the honey makes all the difference, maybe its sweetness that they need to make them more palateable, likewise the jam presume you add a lot of sugar.

Dont really know what that could be sallyann. If its slug/snail type problem, then just moving it could solve the problem.
