Yep, they're awful. Just like Aquilegia. I call both plants "magnets" because they attract the so and so's [IMG]

Mine were absolutely infested last year, it was revolting and bluebottles buzzed around too. I tried soapy water but eventually the plants died.

This year the tub has something different in it but I have noticed three nastartium's coming up beside my patio obviously from last years plants and whilst I love them I am tempted to pull them up.

In Australia I grew loads without any problems.

Hi lelly, look on the positive side, while they're crawling all over them, they're leaving eveything else alone. If it's any help, Cabbage Whites love them as well. I grow Nasturtsiums to eat but I do struggle with the pests. [IMG]

Nasturtiums are one of the plants recommended for growing near brassicas and carrots as a sacrificial crop which will be eaten rather than the veg. I'm not sure about this theory... [IMG]
Have you tried getting a hosepipe and giving them a good blast with it, at as high a pressure as the plants will stand- this works for me on most things, except where the leaves curl round the pests. The only thing then is to pinch off the affected bits or resort to insecticides.
