    Hi

I planted Nasturtium seeds outdoors 2 weeks ago and not a peep!! Got them from a good quality supplier too . Has anybody had problems with them germinating? I have the WORST luck with seeds

They seem to take for ages to germinate for me. Haven't planted any seeds this year, but I've notice I've got one growing amongst the carrots.

I think you need to wait a bit longer, the ground is still fairly cold.

Starting indoors in small pots might have been faster.

I sowed some last weekend, they are in the greenhouse and will stay there until a good size.
There may be some selfseeded ones outside I haven,t really looked yet.

I sowed mine on 4th March in the greenhouse. They are now good sized plants that are big enough to plant out. But I am hardening them off now in a sheltered place. I reckon they took a good 2 - 3 weeks to germinate in the greenhouse. You will need a spell of warm weather to warm the soil to get yours to germinate - it may take a while.

              Thankyou .
I naively thought they’d all germinate quickly in trays outside , like the cornflowers have . Hope they don’t rot in the trays . It’s coming to 3 weeks plus now

Seems we're going to get a few days of high temperatures in the UK, maybe the heat will give those 'lazy' germinators a kick start.

I've got a few self seeded ones coming up in the garden. Along with the hordes of docks and willowherbs that are enjoying the warmth and the recent rain.
