It's midway through january and ive got both open rose's and new rose buds on the climber, the daff bulbs are racing away through the soil and im still seeing the odd fly,

We really do need the very cold spell to kill off the insects but i feel little chance of this happening the way natures dealing the cards.

But it's all fine with me if we dont see any snow, and as ive just sown the tom seeds and put the seed tray in the small (warm) down stairs loo!
Im hoping to see some sign of life from these seeds in a week or two.

Yes nothing better than gardening even in the winter.

Still a lot of insects around here too, despite a few frosts.

Don't think we are out of the woods yet though, to quote the late great Harry,

Same here Moonraker, Crazy Weather., I have climbing roses still full of green leaves from last year.Roses with small buds from last year,Geraniums in baskets and tubs still green and some new growth on them and various other plants that should be sleeping now.
I was out in the garden last week doing a bit of tidying up and painting some garden ornaments, the grass is quite long and when i came in to shower i had several bites on my legs:scratch:. Crazy Weather.

      Google
Google never fails to amaze me , how it can even find and categorise a single thread on a little forum within 10 hours. :love30:

It shows you what a good rating GC has, it normally takes weeks to update a site.

I might not have the quote exactly right, as Chopper still has my book.

Harry Dodson, of Victorian Kitchen Garden fame.
