I live in Scunthorpe, North Lincs and I'd like to try growing a nectarine tree. What do I need to know about trying to grow one here? Is it a dwarf type in a greenhouse job (I have a 6x8 greenhouse), or could I grow it in my yard (very sheltered, 6ft+ solid borders on 3 sides and gets a lot of sun)? I'd love to just plant one out in the garden but I suspect it wouldn't be sheltered enough.

    Thanks.

I tend to think it would be ok outside with maybe some early protection.
I've had peach trees on the go for the last 30yrs, dont get much of a crop these days mainly due to peach leaf curl, which I assume could be a problem with nectarines.

They flower early, so its more about keeping frost off the blossom in March rather than high temps in summer.
