    Hi Guys,

I am in the process of making a small tub for my garden to house fish. The substrate for this tub is going to be garden soil since I'll be growing a good amount of aquatic plants in there. I'm planning for an elevation in the middle where I would be planting a lily.

Now the question. Would lily do well in this kind of "marshy" condition where it's bulbs are constantly in contact with water? This is how It looks now (some plant that I collected in a nearby pond is growing in there)

    Awaiting replies.

    Cheers,

    Karthik

Hi Karthik Welcome to GC.. You could make a nice Bog garden with those bowls.. Depending on what sort of lily you are thinking of I would go for marginal plants as well as bog plants.. There is a huge selection and you can have plenty of colour.. There is plenty of info here http://www.wildflowershop.co.uk/Pond Plants/Pond.htm

Thanks for your reply. Would definitely check the link. I'll also post a pic of the lily that I bought from a nearby nursery.

        Cheers,

        Karthik

I can't think of one. All the ones I am thinking of need decent drainage otherwise the bulbs will rot.
