    Hi there,
Im completely new to gardening, so forgive me if I am totally ignorant!
    I have a few queries........
I have quite a small garden, a bit of decking and a lawn full of bald spots because of the dog. (we have now fenced off the lawn bit from the mutt).
What I would like to do is to put a border along one of the fences.
Should I get some topsoil and compost to fill it up?
I have brought some euonymus, thyme varigated lemon, osteopermum and mossy saxifrage. Would these be ok to plant out in the border?

I am getting some of that stuff to treat the bald spots, should I turn over the soil before I put t on?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me, or some sugestions of what will look good in the border, it does get quite a good bit of sun along the fence. But I need to do a soil test too don't I?
    Thanks

Hi Char:)....there is no such thing as an ignorant question here, we all started out somwhere.:gnthb:

I have a dog that likes to water everything:dh: and has caused some bald spots, and i always rake the area well, to get rid of the dead grass, water it, and then add the grass seed, or whatever i am putting down.:thumb:

If you dont know the quality of the soil, then it wouldn't hurt to add some top soil or compost, and even some manure, just in case.:)

Good luck, and welcome by the way :D
