I bought two oleander plants last spring.
Supposedly they were bred for growing in northern areas in summer, with winter protection.
Both have now got signs of a kind of fungus, the red one has almost been destroyed.
It forms in the stems, the growth above appearing to be alive for a while until it wilts and dies.
This is whats left of the red one.[IMG]

The white one is better but is also showing signs,

Although I've had flowering problems with the standard typers of oleander, I've never had this one.

    Any ideas:)

    Hello pete. :)

As you probably know, Oleanders are fairly pest and disease free with occasional yellowing of the leaves.

One of mine suffers with mealy bugs/aphids every year which I have to blast off with the hose but the shrub doesn't suffer particularly, just a few lost leaves.

I've looked in my various books and the only thing I can come up with is Oleander Leaf Scorch, which is a bacterial problem. It seems pretty confined to California so I couldn't imagine how yours would be infected. Perhaps you have already investigated this?

Doesn't look too good Pete, I haven't seen any diseases on Oleanders so can't offer any help.

At least one of mine that has been outside for two years now has a bud developing,
it was a cutting from a plant growing outside at Exeter Uni but I doubt that that has any bearing on it's hardiness.

    thanks both of you.
The plants were bought from a garden centre, but direct imports from Holland.

I know it was a bad summer last year, but they performed badly, for plants bred for our climate.
    They came from here,
