Does anyone know a good site to buy Allotment netting please?

I have tried www.megatradestore.com so far and they seem to have good prices.

i was given some scaffold netting - its very good. i need to get some more netting for this year as all my old plastic stuff let the pesky cabbage whites in so thanks for the link. we also get rabbits and deer so i am pleased that i have been given some chestnut round posts which i hope to fix my netting to in some places - i also use blue water pipe and bamboo canes - a right mish mash on my plot

i try and re-use where i can but good netting is a must isnt it?

thanks plantsman! i try and use wire mesh round their fav crops and then leave some thing more easier to get at - to be honest i couldnt afford to make te whole plot rabbit mole bird and cabbage white proof but i do net and protect some things. the cabbage white did for more damage then the rabbits this year

exactly the same boat as me......i like my allotment to be low cost meters of wire net does not fit that philosophy so what little i have is saved for the most vunerable crops. Remembered another place for net lbs horticulture strictly a wholesaler but they are pretty lax about it. Cant post link on mobile.

 1/2 chicken wire fencing round the edge of the plot, sunk about 8" deep & 2' high solved my rabbit problem loopy.... I weighed up the cost of time & labour against 2hrs of rabbits..... The wire mesh won out every time & has saved me loads I think in the long run... I do try & net over my brassicas straight after planting to keep the dreaded cabbage white out as I don't spray any more than I have too if nothing else...

thanks Geoff thats certanly worth a look I had not thought of scaffold netting (i had given sourcing cheap netting some thought too so ~I could kick myself now)

PS Nobody be tempted to use that thick plastic orange stuff they use on roadworks, I was reliably told the bright colour deters pests ...bright orange/red natures danger colour - seemed plausable - no rabbits chewed through first night - doh

I am after stuff gthat will keep butterflies off my brassicas. I am having to use wire netting to keep out the bunnies......and ponies. Yep the person whose land it is has 3 Shetland ponies and they are escape artists. When I finish off my netting, when the cold gives way, i will help close the overall boundary. That would at least stop them getting down to the main road. They haven't managed it yet but it has worried me when I have spotted hoof prints in the snow around the site.

I've been busy stretching netting all over the tops of my fences and other entry points to keep the bl***y CATS out!

I'm finding that netting is best - anything more sturdy like chicken wire and they can just climb over. All they can do to well-secured netting is paw in frustration.
