    Nice healthy looking plants you have :)

    You aren't going to get anything much out of them this year now, but from next year onwards they will start; mine are into year three now, and have gone pretty mental this year, chucking up suckers all over the place, so I now have over double the amount of raspberry plants I started with.

    Give them some manure in the spring, and watch them take off :blue thumb:, then follow up with tomato food to promote blossoms which eventually turn into the raspberries

      They will love you for the tomato food; in the spring, try and get some chicken manure pellets (Garden Centres or even Amazon sell buckets of them) and give them a liberal sprinkling of those - they are high in nitrogen which will help them grow nice tall stems.

      If you don't already have any canes, get yourself some for next year as the rasps will need some support to protect them from snapping in the wind.

      You won't get all your rasps ripening at once either - I just freeze mine and use them when I want, as they freeze really well.

          @bexy13 was using coffee for some of her plants if I remember correctly. It's not something I have ever tried, but I can see how it would work.

            I pay no attention to brand to be honest - chickens-hit is chickens-hit really. I get a couple of buckets for about £12 from my local garden centre

              What varieties have you got there @Thomas2525 ? Some blackberries need a lot of space and your raspberries will need pruning according to whether they are summer or autumn fruiting.

              Blackberry crossed with a raspberry is a Loganberry as far as I recall? They are larger than raspberries, slightly more tart in flavour, but great for jam making or wine making.

                @fat controller @Thomas2525 :Wino:

                Yes, I have been using coffee for them this year. I must say I have used manure and chicken pellets in the past with some luck. However I have found this year that the coffee gave them the stimulant that they need. With the raspberries of my bush, me and my mother have made 4-6 jars (big ones) of raspberry Jam. This season is the Best they have ever done. I have also used coffee on my courgettes, Runner beans, onions, potatoes (2 weeks after sowing) and dahlias. They have been cropping really well. I grow my courgettes for shows, I have some that are nearly 1m long.... As for the dahlias they are doing so well with the blooms having the best and vibrant colour I have seen in a long while.

                I did do a little experiment however, I only used my normal seaweed feed on my tomatoes and cucumbers and they have done poorly this year.

                So I would suggest using coffee as a general fertiliser ever 4 days and your normal fertiliser every 2 weeks. I might even go as far as to say it could beat the results of horse and chicken poop :heehee:
