New front garden path- honest thoughts

What do you think of the new front garden path which some workmen have recently installed

 

Looks not bad what do you think?

 

It looks good!

 

It's beautiful, just doesn't really 'go' with the red brick walls. It will once the slabs age and weather

 

It looks very nice, although the gravel may cause problems when it doesn't stay where you want it, and weeds start growing in it. I like the slabs though, they're a pleasant colour and they're nice and plain

 

Personally I wouldn't want the gravel between the slabs it's not so bad down the sides.
Really it's about how much you paid.

 

Looks ok, think it will look better when you give the gate and gate posts a fresh coat of black gloss.

 

It looks fine, but you will get weeds growing in the gravel.

 

I've just noticed in picture one the cement they have put along the front where it joins the pavement is just breaking up, its still intact in picture 2.
To be honest it looks like its all just been laid on top of what was already there and no ground preparation before hand.

 

It isnt resin bound but i was thinking about doing this but have read mixed opinions online . I would do it so its easier for the wheelie bin to move down the path.

My experience is that weeds grow almost anywhere. At the moment its covered in leaves

This is a reasonable idea i forget about the gate

I understand what you are saying and i don't understand why they put the last stone there. It isn't a huge step though but looks worst than it is from the picture

 

this is my worry as i had to get them to come back . They left it at picture 1 but then i got them to come back and they did work which resulted in picture 2. My concern is about what is underneath the other paving stones . Im not 100% sure about leaving a glowing review due to this concern but i also don't want them to come back again and lift up all the stones to show me what is underneath each one. Here is a close up picture of the first time they left it

 

I think the slab is moving when you walk on it, just enough to break that fillet of cement and sand up, as JWK said earlier its bad practice and the slab should be level with the pavement then that wouldn't be necessary.

 

Nice tidy job. Like that it fits in with next doors paving.
