Have just moved into a new cottage with rough grass area ideal for veg plot. Can I just turn the grass over and then plant potatoes etc or do I have to actually remove the grass?

    Any advice welcomed!

Hi Micky and welcome. If it had been autumn, I would of said, just turn it in. But as it`s not, I would say, you are better off removing it. Look on it as being the start of your compost heap. :D

Thanks Dai, I was afraid that may be the case - not getting any younger and hoping for the easy option!

You could always kill it off with Glyphosate and then dig it in. A compromise. :D

Thanks for the tip but I'd rather not use any chemicals so guess I'll stick to the hard work.
