Well now that I have some time again, its time to get back out to the garden and sort out a few things.

I already had one pond, built about ten years ago. I decided I wanted something a bit more visual. So I now have two ponds and very soon they will have a waterfall connecting them.

Decided that I had had enough of having a sloping garden. So I have bought some raiway sleepers and built some tiers into one side of the garden near the ponds. The lowest tier is going to have some decking right up to the edge of the stone wall behind the pond. The decking will be just big enough to take a small table and two chairs so Mrs Chopper and I can sit and chill by the pond.

I am moving my small 8X6 shed from where it is at the side of the house, to almost the back of the garden. Behind the shed I have used some more sleepers to build a chicken run. Since I last posted I have acquired four chickens.

My other shed 8X12, that is currently in the bottom corner of the garden is going to be taken apart and a couple of my club brothers are coming to collect it to use in thier boat yard. Once that area of the garden is cleared and leveled, my new polytunnel is going in there.

Ordered the polytunnel this morning from First Tunnels. 14 feet wide by 30 feet long. I have ordered a few extra bits with it. Two sets of staging supports, one down each side. One side will have a vent screen. Extra wide sliding door at the front, so I can get a wheelbarrow in there and a normal size sliding door for the back end. Ordered a set of crop bars that stretch right across the inside of the tunnel, ideal for hanging baskets and tall plant supports. Also ordered the storm supports.

Loads of work to do, feels like I have only scratched the surface so far. Really excited about the tunnel, can't wait to see it all put together and get stuck in to growing lots of veg and flowers. I really fancy having a go at growing some spectacular Fuschias.

I'll do some pictures tomorrow if anybody is interested in seeing them.

    Chopper.
