I have just planted a new border which I decided to put in as cutting the grass against the fence was proving to annoy me greatly!

I have put 2 acers in with some asiatic lilies in between, I have then covered soil with 'golden gravel' from B and Q (using a free £10 voucher). Just wondering when the lilies die back will they grow through the gravel layer next year?

The acers are from Morrisons and only £10 each, these are great value in view of their maturity / size Si would recommend!

Good idea and looks very neat! Not sure if the lilies will push their way through the gravel - I'm sure someone will come along that knows.

I can`t say for certain either I`m afraid but at a guess, as long as the gravel isn`t trampled down, I`d say they would.
