    Hi Hammer, I assume from it`s size that it`s the hebe you are wanting advice on. You can prune them back, and it will be smaller once you have, but it will grow back again. When you are gardening you are in fact a glorified referee, so you would keep them in check if they go out of bounds. You`ll need to do it again at a later date.


    By the way, it is magnificent.

    thanks its the big one yes, green on top so if i cut it back it will just look like clean branches
    so the green foilage will grow back this year,yes.

    :thmb: Hi Hammer, that is a Boxleaf Hebe.. It is a native of New Zealand & can groew to 5' high there.. Over here it groews well & can take a great deal of Spring pruning to restrain it's height or to shape it if you fancy doing a bit of Topiary or even suitable for hedging.. Pruning is optional for these as they are not really unruley like some types can be.. This Hebe naturally forms a rounded shape.. If your particular plant becomes straggly, then cutting back hard - to within 30cm of the ground - will rejuvenate it. However, the last option should be done with care!:wink: Hope that helps some Hammer..:thmb:
