    Hi,

New to the forum so thanks for having me. Im not much of an experienced gardener and have just moved into a new house, these trees are planted around the perimeter of the front garden. From searching to find out what they are I think ive figured out they are laurel, my question is how do i prune and look after these to make sure they grow well and more together than up? Any help is greatly appreciated thank you

Portuguese Laurel . No pruning required at the moment, let them get near to the height you want them to be ultimately then start trimming for a hedge . Don't forget to water them a good drink at least once a week with the current dry weather. Most plant want to grow up its just the way it is, you could layer them by pinning them into the ground if you wish.

Looks like a very small border for a hedge, not a great choice of plant if its to be kept small .

Thanks for the reply, this is wat the border looks like, goes right round the front of the house. Just leave it this year then you think?
