Hi everyone! I'm Barbara and along with my partner Gary we are rapidly becoming hooked on gardening! He's finishing off errecting a new greenhouse as we speak!! We moved in 3 years ago and the garden was full of brambles and weeds and sadly neglected! Since then we have worked hard, clearing, designing new borders etc. A small fortune was spent on perennial plants and shrubs which are now beginning to look established and borders are filling out. Had a few disasters though..virtually all my roses, in the ground and pots have sufferred terribly from blackspot. We don't really like to use chemicals so advice here would be appreciated. It's Gardeners Weekend this Sat and Sunday here in Birmingham..I can highly recommend it if people can make it..loads of bargains..makes you realise how we can be ripped off at garden centres! Anyway..Hello to you all and look forward to getting lots of ideas and tips from more experienced gardeners on this site.

Hi Plantaholic and a warm welcome to GC from me,
I think most everyone has sufferd with black spots on there roses this year Ive put it down to so much rain but I could be wrong. :eek:
Have you got before and after photoes?
Be nice to see what you have done to your garden!
