Hi everyone, I'm Lou. I have a large woodland garden on the South Downs that was neglected for at least 10 years by it's previous owner and allowed to return to nature.
It's a beautiful space with mature trees and lots of shade which I love but needs everything doing, landscaping, new lawn, planting up, decking, fencing the works.
As cash is in short supply after doing up the equally neglected house I'm going to have to do most of the donkey work myself.
So far I've created beds and tamed the grass which will need returfing in autumn and have begun planting.
My son who is a carpenter is coming to build some log stores this week, our house runs on woodburning central heating and solar power and we try to live as eco friendly a life as possible.

Hi Lou, and welcome to a lovely forum.
I too am in a similar situation of trying to reclaim a building and land.
Though my woodland could not be described as a 'garden,' far too wild.:heehee:
I'd love to see some pictures of your garden progress, it might inspire me to sort out mine. :)
