This is probably asking a bit much so if not possible no problem.
But my query is, I mostly use the new posts tab at the top, but I find it ends up cluttered with posts I'm not interested in.
The only way to get rid of these posts appears to be to actually look at them, and then they dont appear under "new posts" until someone adds to it.
Is there anyway you can ignore certain threads or maybe a check box to tick in order to stop the unwanted posts showing up all the time.

If you go to the 'Forums' page and scroll down, on the right there's a list headed 'Latest Posts'. They are in time order, newest at the top, and you can choose the ones you want to see.
Admittedly you could miss one or two if you leave it too long before looking because they fall off the bottom of the column, but if not many comments are made the list doesn't change much.

Hi Pete. I use New Posts, read that what interests me then Mark Posts Read. Does that answer your question?

Yeah, I tried that but I'd prefer to be able to just not have certain threads even showing up, its not a people thing, its a content thing.

I guess that would work but then you only, presumably, get threads you have marked as watched.
            Do you get new ones?

One way to do this is to watch threads you want and use 'Watched Threads' instead of 'New Posts'. You can automatically subscribe to threads you start and when you reply, it's a setting in 'Browser Preferences'.

It has the disadvantage of not seeing new posts that you may like. There is no feature to 'ignore' a thread unfortunately.

OK thought it might not be possible but I do remember some years ago, probably using an older format, that you could stop seeing certain topics or sections.
You may have guessed which section I dont want to see.:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

In the early days I think there was an unwatch facility but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be possible on the current format.

Yes it was possible, years ago, to ignore certain sub forums. That feature has disappeared.

I imagine it is more annoying if you are on a mobile and it fills the screen. ;)

You can do that and they won't appear there. Then just occasionally go to 'Forums' or 'New Posts' to check what's new. That's what I do.

Yeah, I'll just carry on, I dont really ever use watched threads, I can miss stuff that way, its not that I want to miss stuff its about not getting lots of clutter that I'm never going to be interested in.

Its strange that I can actually "watch" the forum concerned but I cant "ignore" it .

Unfortunately the 'unwatch' facility on this board only removes it from your 'Watched Threads' list but doesn't stop them appearing on your screen.

I just use New Posts, read what interests me then Mark Posts as Read. Simple and straightforward.
