I would like to introduce you to our new addition. his name is spartan, pedigree, blue nose warrior,(as i'm a birmingham city supporter).
we wasn't supposed to have him for at least another 2 weeks, but the mother was turning. probably due to her fist time breeding,

size can vary. but roundabouts the 15/19 kg mark . there are short and long legged types. also very tolerant and friendly. but need loads of love as they can be very affectionate also. i wouldnt trust any other dog with my kids. but i would say that, as i have been around them most of my life. what really does my head in though is the people who breed them just for fighting. i hate it. also a lot of backstreet breeders who don't have a clue about them. such a shame really as it gives them a bad rep.

You are so right there, its sad when people use them to figh:mad:t......i know here in Ontario to legally have one, they have to be muzzled and leashed when they are out on the streets, a few years back, we had people being bitten and mauled, and yep..turns out they were dogs that got loose that were used for fighting.......so so sad.....in fact you cant legally buy them in Ontario anymore and its illegal to import any across the Border:scratch:, if you had one prior to a certain date, you could keep it, but anyone buying one after the law passed, it had to be put down :dh:......i didnt then, and i dont agree with that now.

Spartan sure is cute though.....thanks for showing us your new furbaby.:D:thmb::thmb:

He is so darling, but it looks like you woke him up.

Certain dogs must be muzzled and leashed in Germany as well. So many people were attacked and mauled, some even killed. It doesn't happen so often any more but you still hear of cases where it does.

In a lot of the cases, it is an otherwise peaceful family dog and the owners can't understand how that could happen. Other times it is a dog belonging to one of these people who train it to "go get" and was let off the leash unmuzzled or somehow escaped.

Whatever, it is a dreadful thing and I believe it goes back to people breeding bad habits into dogs for fighting purposes, and then crossing various breeds. Just as you said, Boebrummie "... the people who breed them just for fighting. i hate it. also a lot of backstreet breeders who don't have a clue about them. such a shame really as it gives them a bad rep."

    Man is the worst animal.

I wish you many years of fun and joy with your new family member.

I hope you'll be happy with your new pet.
