    Hi there,

Recently built some raised beds and filled with about 3 tonnes of soil/compost however shortly afterwards I noticed the soil and the retaining wood was covered in tiny cream coloured mites.

Can't get a photo as they are small but they were pretty fast moving and in the 1000's.

No idea if these are good guys or something I want to get rid of. Just put in some plants so I guess that might be a test to see if they are destructive. My 2 year old is desperate to get in and do some planting but a bit put off with him coming back crawling in mites!

Also noticed they tend to disappear only to come out again once the soil is disturbed.

Anyone seen this and have any tips to control? Or do I just leave it as is?

    Cheers

    Ross

I have no experience of them but, hopefully, another member may be able to help you.
