Hi iam pretty new to gardening and looking for some advice on some plants.

First of all i want to plant a hedge and have been looking at rosa rugosa but as it will be planted pretty close to the service line(water streetlighting ect) iam am worried incase the roots go deep down and cause damage so can anyone inform mr of how deep the roots will grow. Secondly i would like to plant some sort of grass plant which i would prefer to be spikey and have a decent height and spread and can withstand a fair bit of abuse (ie neighbors kids kicking football off it).
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum!

It might help if we know where you are. So many variables with plant tolerance and local laws to consider :)
