    Hi everyone ,
I've just signed up to this site so apologies if this is in the wrong place .
Me and my wife moved into a new house last year and the garden is coming along nicely . it was an absolute mess when we moved in but we are doing a good job on it considering we are newbies to the gardening world lol
Me and my dad are in the process of putting up some Trellis its far from finished yet but my question is what is good for growing up it ?

    Looking forward to your replies

I'd like it to be evergreen .
However I don't think the soil is the best , when we where digging down to put the posts in the soil turned into sand ?! Not sure if that's good or not lol

dont worry and no its not a bad thing to have sandy soil just means your garden will be drier as the drainage is really good but its good to work compost in to the soil as well

I have sandy soil and loads of stuff grows and yes aspect is which direction your garden faces.

    is it sunny or shady?

Well I'm going to be making some compost bins out of some old pallets next week so within time I'll have plenty of that to work in my soil ☺

It's the sunniest part of my garden ( when the sun actually shines lol )

Down the road from me then :-) so the other ones wouldnt be any good if we got a bad winter. It would get too cold for them

I have never grown that clematis before myself but its a small one so wont get too carried away and should fit those trellises nicely. You will prob need a couple of plants to get full coverage :-)

      Haha indeed.

You can buy and plant now for flowers next year in spring.

You might want to wait and see what other members suggest as they will probably come up with something better and im sure a lot more options :-)
