new turf help please

    hi, i laid some new turf today, however, as you see, its uneven where the old and the new grass join, about half an inch diff in height

    any tips to correct other than starting again

    Hi and Welcome to the Forum,

    Assume you preparded the soil where the new grass was going to be used, so it will probably sink a little over the next few weeks.
    Where the new grass is raised, you could just knock it down a little with the flat back of a spade or something similar.

    If the new grass is too low, then carefully lift the edge of the new grass and put a few handfuls of soil under it to get things level.

    The rest of the lawn looks quiet yellow, has it been allowed to grow very tall and just been cut back ?

    yes, i do tend to cut the rest of the grass quite short- in answer to your question
