Hi all, this is my first post so apologies if this is the wrong place.

I recently purchased some turf and i'm just unsure about the quality of what I have received. Please see attached images (the final image is a stock image which shows what I was expecting).

My concerns are: there is a lot of black decomposing grass at the base of the turf, there appears to be a lot of bare patches in the lawn and, most worryingly, it appears the grass has been grown on clay, as shown by the contrast in soil colour on the piece of inverted turf.

Can anyone put my mind at ease or would you be requesting the turf to be collected and start again?

Always hard with turf as we get good and bad years. Was it a local supplier?
