New Years Eve

Evening folks..With just over 3 weeks till New Years Eve what are your plans for the big night..Is it a quiet night in or do you party the night away

Probably staying in again. Just me and the missus probably this year. And CL1.1 normally gets special dispensation to stay up til just after midnight. My mam might come round, dunno. Might ask my sister. Most of my mates now live far away. Might have a look in at the GC do.

 

I am up for a party on here. Can have a quiet night with you all and a few drinks.

I have learned (over the years) to *not* plan anything on NYE!

I've planned nights out (which have gone to pot)
I've planned nights in (which have gone to pot!)
I've planned early nights (which have gone to pot!!)
And, I've planned all nighters (which have gone to pot!!!)

For many years I didn't plan anything for NYE because my daughter's birthday fell on New Years Day - you simply cannot celebrate a child's birthday (successfully) with a hang over from either drinking or tiredness (they didn't ask to be born )

Also, being married to someone who has to work when they are told (and no, necessarily when they want) has had an influence on what we celebrate, how we celebrate and when we celebrate which also throws interesting arrangements into the mix

In recent years, even with the best placed plans of mice and men, when we should have spent our first child-free, work-free, NYE together ... I ended up escorting a rather worse for wear young lady home and completely missed the "planned" countdown

So: for what it is worth, this year, I "plan" on riding Ozzy bareback (Lady Godiva style) through the village, at the stroke of midnight. (Rest easy neighbours: my plans *never* come to fruition! You are saved )

 

Commitment can be bad for your health. I might be trying to give up committing to anything.
