Has anyone on here been thinking of making any New Year's Resolutions and promising to keep the promise.

I made a couple of resolutions on 1st January this year and they were:
    1. lost weight and get fit
    2. try to drink less wine
    3. do not eat chocolate for 1 year.

I'd say that I have succeeded on No.3 without any problems at all.:thumb:and I have tried my best to get fit but have a long way to go.
As for no.2.....it lasted 2 weeks and then I was back to my usual.

still, I did not drink a drop for 2 weeks whilst I was in India because Gujrat is a dry state so that must count towards my attempt to limit my wine drinking.:lollol:

I'm still thinking of what I want to decide on this year as my resolutions, and it'd be nice to read what everyone else is thinking of too.

I know....I know....A lot of you will say that I make a resolution never to make a resolution but it'd still be an interesting read.

I hope to have my list ready to publish over the Xmas holidays.

I dimly remember a resolution made at the end of 2007 to have more alcohol free nights in 2008. Doesn't seem to have been adherred to though :(

So, this year I will try the same again. I am also promising myself to start spinning classes at the gym (I go 3-4 times a week to work out anyway).

Good luck to anyone attempting to stop smoking. Word of warning-do not attempt it on January 1st. There is too much pressure to quit then and you are better off setting a date that suits you, not one dictated by "tradition"!

    :) I never make them ... so I can't break them ... :gnthb:

If I want to change something in my life, I do it then and there.

On the smoking aspect ... it took cancer for both me and my Sis to give up ... not a New Year's Resolution ....

... but I wish you all the best in your chosen resolutions ... go for it!:flwsml:

I agree with you LoL. I have been quite successful. I made two new year's resolutions and managed to keep both :D

    1) not to make any new years resolutions and
    2) to remember resolution number one.

Only people with less than perfect lives make new year resolutions.
As I keep telling my husband because I am so perfect.
    I don't bother.:hehe:

Not everyone would agree with the above.:rotfl:

Helping the wine industry grow is one resolution I have kept for many years, and will continue to keep.
