    Hi all,

Just inherited a garden from my Pa and am bamboozled by the following plants - any help appreciated - some might be weeds?

    Identify A - sort of

I don't know what it's called, but it has the following characteristics:-
    1. grows to about 3ft. in clumps.
    2. top flowers, mine is blue.
    3. very generous - spreads randomly all over the place.

I've left a few clumps at the back of several parts of the garden and pull up the rest in the spring as they appear.

They are no real problem and seem happy to grow wherever you leave them.
    They're probably a weed though!:rolleyespink:

As to B. They seem familiar - leave them alone and find out.

I think A might be Linaria purpurea

B looks familiar, but I cant place it
        C is Valerian
D looks a bit like Californian poppy, Eschscholzia californica

        Could B be helichrysum

          Many thanks all

Ah haa D is Californian poppy! I planted it myself! I thought the little seedlings around it were the poppies coming up, heh I think i've got it the wrong way round - I suspect the little seedlings are chickweed.

          C is Valerian

A must be Linaria purpurea - My Dad left some dried seed pods hanging in the shed - and they looks just like it.

I'll wait and see how B develops!

          Cheers all :-)
