Hello everyone! :new: I'm Ellen, originally from Nottinghamshire but recently moved to the Derbyshire Dales, and inherited an established garden. After having only a couple of lawns and box hedging at the previous house, I'm learning as I go!

      Hallo Ellen,
welcome to Gardeners Corner. Oooh, the Derbyshire Dales - sounds delightful. When you've settled in, we would love to see some piccies of that established garden of yours. Plenty of good hearted gardeners here who will help if you have any problems.
Enjoy having a browse around the garden!,

        Thanks Clueless and Jenny! :ThankYou:

I've lots of green, hopefully get some flowers so I can see what I've got there! I'll certainly post some photos when it's looking good :) One problem I do have is Ground Elder, thankfully in a separate vegetable patch! I'm keeping the bit that's got carrot seeds, etc in clear, but the rest...

We certainly seem to have our own 'special' weather here! ;) I'm looking forward to finding my way with the garden. We've also got a separate plot on the other side of the farmer's track (we're opposite a dairy farm) and that has fruit trees around the edges, and I've uncovered a rhubarb patch. I've planted veg seeds so we'll see what happens there. Hopefully it all won't get choked by the ground elder

Thanks Bilbo :) I'll be taking some photos of the main border when there's some flowers; apart from a couple of aliums, there's not much there apart from leaves :)

You can't be far from me then! I'm originally from Mansfield, now up near Bakewell :)

The rockery looks lovely, your new garden looks like it's had a lot of TLC by the previous owners. :)

It has been well-looked after, but there is some work to do as it was left to it's own devices for a good few months before we moved in, and the winter we had out here didn't help matters! I've got to get the pond in that rockery picture mended after the weight of the snow pulled stones down etc
