Hi all .... found out about this website from a local evening paper so here I am ! I'm Val, early sixties, living in Houghton le spring, Tyne and Wear ... I live with my husband and we have a very small garden out front and a larger one ( though not too big) out the back ... I particularly love clematis and have a few different ones in my garden . I also love lavender. Although I live in the North East, I come from Norfolk and every year when I go home I visit the Norfolk Lavender gardens and buy some small plants, so that I now have quite a few original Norfolk lavenders growing and I harvest them every year .... my little bit of home from home ... Val

Hi ismeval and a warm welcome to GC. I love both lavender and clematis too but unfortunately I never seem to have much luck with either one of them. Well, I do have a clematis that has survived two years here.

Hello Ismeval another Scottish Welcome I also enjoy clematis in my garden ,got one in full bloom and still many buds behide my greenhouse which is very sheltered.

Anew one on my arch this yr has started to bloom again getting a second flush.

I have a few new lavendars this year and one in a tub that is lending itself to look like a standard very pretty.

One of my clients wanted lavendar in her garden among other plants two new ones were artic snow a nice white lavendar and blue ice a pale blue.

I now wish I had bought these for myself.

But oh its chilly and wet here ,I was over in the mountains of Spain at a relatives home last week and it was nice and cosy outside and cool indoors ,but too hot but this is just a bit too cold at for this time of year.

Soon time will be changing and the nights drawing in again and kids back to school before everyone gets the pleasure of summer.Enjoy GC I am sure you will.
