    Dear All

Thanks in advance for your time and attention to my post.

I live in a flat in a balcony and would like to have some tall plants to provide some privacy. Ideally they would need to be tall (1,4 meters) , cold resistant and low maintenance. And grow in vases of course!

I would appreciate suggestions for expert gardeners from this forum,

    Many thanks!

Hey pedro, I'm not an expert gardener but did some trying to grow things on a balcony last year.

I think it might make a difference whether you get any sun or not as to what plants could work.

Also how much room you have for the containers on the balcony - that was my problem in trying to fit all the containers in. Maybe you might be able to do something nice with hanging or tiered planting, rather than upright plants like in this link http://www.gardenlandscapingideas.i...ntainer-gardening-tips-for-your-property.html

Also, my experience is that you can have lower maintenance but in hot weather if you don't water your container plants, they die. Not that I speak from experience or anything ;) Plus the initial set up could take time and a bit of money for plants, containers and a watering can...

It's not an easy situation. Balconies can be windy, shady, dry, extremes of temps. Be interested to hear what people suggest!
