    Hi

A week ago (with help from my parents !) I planted up my front garden beds with some perennials.

The beds run on 2 sides of a squarish front lawn, are about 3 to 5 feet wide and have quite a bit of clay.

We used soil conditioner, chicken pellets and some gravel during planting.

I haven't got the names with me now but can post them tomorrow.

Several of them show browning / curling of the leaf tips and don't look too healthy. One appears to have lost quite a few flowers as well.

I'm watering them every evening (about 6 litres each).

I'm concerned that they are are not going to make it.

Could this just be initial "shock" at being transferred into the beds or something more sinister ?

    Many thanks

    swayzak

If they were in pots then I doubt its shock of planting (provided you left the rootball "hole" and didn't break it up. If they were dug up from another place, i.e. "bare rooted", then they will struggle initially.

Are the plants subjected to Wind / Breeze? That tends to dry them out ...

I would keep going with the watering, and perhaps give them a foliar feed

Hi swayzak. It may well help if you could tell us what these plants are. You say one is losing it's flowers, the thing is, Rhododendrons are in flower right now, and you say you have clay soil. The two don't go together IF it's Rhododendrons or any other acid loving plants.
    Cheers...freddy.
