    The car driver was at fault to begin with, nearly knocking him off his bike then hitting an oncoming car. He won't do that again in a hurry !

      From later news, it appears the driver knew the guy on the bike and deliberately tried to knock him down as he belonged to a different street gang.:wallbanging::doh:

        Surely this has to be a good thing? Driving on a motorway for the first time is truly terrifying. I've been driving for 30 years but still remember that first journey :yikes:
        At least if they're getting some experience with a qualified instructor we'll all be safer :)
        I must confess my interest is personal, I have a son about to pass his test and one about to start lessons :rolleyespink:
        The thought of either of them on the roads :mute::love30::fingers crossed:

          Yes i am surprised its taken so long, driving on a motorway is far different to driving on normal roads/dual carriageways loose concentration/make a mistake and it could be fatal but they seem to think reversing round a corner is more important :wallbanging:

            Am still shocked at people not knowing how to merge onto a highway. Pedal to the metal, then when at pace, fit in. And so many don't get it, or want to go to the end before pulling in and slowing down everyone.

                Really good to know that they have the army on "standby", I guess they are waiting for it to get worse before calling them in?
                I just wonder sometimes if it's me, the authorities or just stupid news reporting.

                  They've called in the Army now, pete, and are working on what sort of resources they need. An officer from the rif raf has been on the scene and offering the use of a Chinook.

                      Fingers crossed they get the pumps where they need them and manage to get on top of it. The really sad thing was reading somewhere that it is suspected that this was deliberately started

                          A polite way of saying that it is being demolished?

                          School of Art building to be 'dismantled'

                          Much as I can understand the sentiments surrounding this building, its historical significance, and of course the desire to have it restored, surely there comes a point when it simply cannot be saved?
