I live on a mountain and have a steep bank to one side of my property that's roughly 300ft X 25 ft and it's then bordered by agricultural land, I weedkilled it 2yrs ago, covered to make sure everything died(which it did) and then spent last year planting it with lonicera, cotoneasters, berberis ect at great cost and workload , this year it's covered with weeds and grass and after hand weeding for 5 days I'm only a fifth of the way through it, sorry for the long post but anyone have any ideas to make this easiet

The usual answer is ground covering permeable membrane and wood chippings!

    Cheers, Tony.

If you don't mind using chemicals a systemic weed killer containing glyphosate will clear everything killing the roots too. Be aware though that it kills just about anything it touches including the plants you want to keep, use on a windless day to stop drift.

Could you level it off in areas creating stepped gardens that would be easier to manage?
