I have a passiflora edulis grown from seed and its currently on my window sill awaiting the last frost. Thing is its now four foot tall on one creeper. If I nip off the growing tip will it start putting out side shoots? Is it best to do this now or when I plant it out? Many thanks

Hi Essex, You might get it to make a couple of growing points by pinching out but will probably delay flowering a bit.
I have grown fruit on a single stemmed plant in a greenhouse.
I assume you know its not hardy and is unlikely to survive outside in the winter.
It would produce more flowers and fruit if grown in a greenhouse.

Can I remember my geography correctly? In the IoW they grow almost wild ... is that a bit "too south"? They do get frost there.

I knew it wasn't hardy hence growing it inside so far. I was hoping to get something from it. Unfortunatley I don't have a greenhouse or conservatory. Thanks for the advice - I'll see how it goes

Essex, I think I would try it in a large pot on a sunny wall or fence if possible.

Hey, pete, maybe we are at crossroads here ... I meant they grow wild in IoW. [IMG]
