Attached is a picture. The objects purpose are unknown. Has anyone seen them with your grandmother or great aunt in use? The cup like part is fired attached to the tray. The cup like part is about 2 inches tall and the tray is about 4 inches long and the width is about 2 inches wide. None of the cups have shown any ink stain so that is discounted as far as a writing purpose. I don't want to mislead anyone by saying "cup" its a container of unknown use. These objects are at least 170 years old. They are Nippon. So any ideas. Again I hope someone's grandmother or grand aunt was seen with these. Thanks in advance for comment.
Hmmm, sorry I can ony guess having never seend anything like it, the indentations on 3 of them look like they would fit your thumb, so maybe youhold them with one hand easily for drinking tea? (I'm no antique expert though!)
Thanks for trying, no one really knows. I belong to a Nippon Club, the members are puzzled with them.
