Non-flowering Wisteria?

    Does anyone have any ideas about Wisteria and why it has not flowered.I have been asked by a friend why her established Wisteria has not flowered.All i know about it is that it gets morning sun.I thought possibly reasons for not flowering could be lack of sun or getting to old, i would appreciate any ideas so i can pass this on i have not seen it.

    It's unusual for an established wisteria not to bloom. I'd put it down to the hard winter and hope for the best next year!
    Having said that, I'm assuming that your friend has owned said wisteria for years and has seen it bloom at this time of year before? There are later blooming varieties which haven't exploded yet.

    If its never flowered it might have been grown from seed, rather than grafted. Seedlings take years to flower - maybe as much as 10 years.

    Mine took many many years tp flower (I have forgotten how many, but I published a thread last year about it :)) I think it could very well have been 10 years .......

    Usually wisteria flower within the first 5-7 yrs although that is grafted plants, now seed raised plants I believe can take decades to bloom if at all =/

    Also they don't like to be fed very often I am told.. Does your friend feed it very often & does it have lots of lush green growth.?

    Hi So many reasons couple of questions

    Where is it growing wall etc?
    Does youre friend summer prune then winter prune?
    How old is it ?
    Do you know the variety?
    Full sun shade ?
    Does it get caught out by late frost ?
    Does the soil dry out quickly over the spring and Summer
