    Hi,

I have a lawn that is North facing and gets no sun during the winter months. Its very damp and and I even get the odd mushroom growing. The grass gets very patchy and thin with some areas dying during these months and I usualy have to re-seed parts of it during April / May to ensure a good lawn for the new season.

Is there anything I can do to help stop this happening

    hi Scott54321

lawn dressing would help with the damp part as for re-seeding i have to do this every yr due to been on clay and my drainage is pants too but this yr round about now i have normally a very patchy lawn but i applied a autum lawn food with moss killer and i can't believe the differance it has made ,

you can still put it down untill the middle of nov so that might be worth ago and i have also jumped all over the garden this yr with my garden fork to help with drainage and thats also payed off do you have a picture ?

and what type of soil are you on ?

im sure there will be someone who knows more than me along to help but thats what i have done this yr and fingers crossed it should look good at the start of next yr oh and mine is also shaded alot

Try getting one of these companies in that looks after your lawn for you. They come in about four times a year and, according to the info on another thread (about cutting the lawn), they are not at all expensive. Probably worth a look in your yellow pages and getting them in for a quote.
