Now that we seem to have a lull in the fierce and genuinely fearsome winds (even for here - I was really scared that the - metal braced - roof of the house was going to blow off) I thought I'd go out and take stock. Managed to plant some Paperwhite narcissi that someone gave me for Christmas (!!?!) but only because I could do it from the path. The rest of the garden is still so sodden that the beds just look like mud baths and walking on the grass leaves deep muddy prints and nasty squelching sounds. The roofing felt blew off the shed before Christmas and the Lawn Ranger has not had a chance to replace it because of the weather/festivities. Everything in the shed is wet. Think I will just stay inside for a bit longer and order some plants and seeds! And eat crumpets.
