hi everyone, im new to gardening yes ive managed to get to the ripe old of age of mid 40's and only just taking an interest... bought a new house 6 months ago so the lawn is probably 10 months old.. i cut it every 2 weeks and its sunny aspect makes it great but its looking threadbare... should i feed it and if so any recommendations as to what is should buy. the front lawn is ornamental and back i use frequently ie hanging washing out, sunbathing, light socialising... no young kids so thats a blessing... any advice welcomed :-)

It's the perfect time of year to give your lawn a revamp.

If you look at Friday's Gardeners World Monty Don was doing his lawn so would be a good place to start :blue thumb:

Could be an Elm, the Dutch Elm disease kills the tops off when they are about 10 to 15 feet high, but they grow back from root suckers.

Welcome to Gardeners Corner btw :sign0016:

If you could post pics of your trees I'm sure some here could hazard a guess as to what the problems might be :)

Hi thanks... this seems like a good site. I have a pic on my pc at work which i just remembered so will post a pic of the tree tomorrow, its the actual tree which you will see is lovely and green but now 2 months on its really brown and dead... the only thing thats changed is that i notice a cat uses it as a bed now and then - not my cat btw I dont have any animals.
