I thought i would show you a few pics of my garden until i can show you more updates of my sons garden.

The acer tree in the front garden made quite a mess of the lawn and made lots of moss, so i dug the lawn up and laid gravel instead. Then i planted lots of flowers to give colour to the garden. last year i planted lots of busy lizzies but the slugs ate most of them so i decided to plant pansies instead as they don't seem to like them.

i have also sown lots of seeds straight into the soil, something that i don't do very often but i dont' have the time to sow them in trays anymore, some are coming through now but it takes the seeds much longer to grow this way. Last year i had small edging round the flowers made from willow but they looked quite rough after the winter, so i replaced them with rockery stones instead which will be more servicable.

Will show you the back garden later on.

this is my mailbox that my husband made me, i got a piece of drainpipe and asked him to fix it on the post too for any free newspapers ect that could go in there. I painted it the mailbox. That's my daewoo matiz on the drive. She is great on fuel, when i first had her i had done 400 miles and it only cost me £40 in petrol. I call her my little mitze. She is like a tardis inside. The other week i put in a 5ft palm tree, 3 bin liners full of plants for my sons garden and there was still room for me! Lol.

this is the back of the garden down the side. Sorry don't know what was up with the photos some are very blurred. i placed a mirror on the fence and noticed in the refection that the ground looked pretty **** as it was just cracked concrete, so i laid gravel down like i had done on the front and i was really pleased with the result. Then i put down some slate floor tiles left over from the conservatory so it looked like a there was another garden.

I purchased some pototoes bags online and now since this photo was taken they have really come on.

    Hi Weekend Gardener :)

I really like how you have done your garden. It has character with the use of the gravel, stones and grouping the pots together. Lots of colour too. It's great to see other peoples styles - it's a good way of getting ideas for our own gardens :thmb:

Glad you like the garden guys, as you say it gives you ideas, it's about sharing isn't it. My sister got this idea for gates in her garden, it's just arched trellis, which were from wilkinsons, so i pinched the idea from her for my garden.

I have since moved the palm tree down to the bottom of the garden. i am always moving plants to different parts, either because they are not doing so well where they were, or i think they look better somewhere else. It's more easier sometimes when they are in pots.

I brought this statue of a lady from matlock. She was on the top of the stairs for quite a while, before i decided to put her outside.
