October Bananaman's Hide-Out

This months hideout is inspired by roders photo competition theme. On the basis that BM's Hideout is one big leaf, it is going to be difficult to choose between the entries I want to submit, never mind choosing between everyone elses :rolleyes:

When are you going to wrap them up for the winter ? as we were forcast frost one night last week ..okay it didnt happen but its been a bit cool..and secondly will you be wrapping your gunnera up as i am not sure what to do about mine i could lift it and put it in the greenhouse..

 

Hi WF. I will answer your question while my leaf photos are dragging their heels uploading to Photobucket. I want to get my bananas wrapped up by next weekend. I have been pushing my luck and I need to get the banana house up ASAP. I just can't bear the thought of winter just yet and everything is still looking soooo green. As for the gunnera it still looks tip top so I will leave it for now. But it will just get the leaves folded in to start with until the frosts get more servere when I will put a large vented 42 litre rubber/plastic pot over the top :D

 

Okay thanks ..I think i will either have to protect the gunnera or lift it as its colder here than where you are..

Bananaman - brilliant photos - the detail on some of those leaves is fantastic. What sort of a camera do you use.
