During the last two weeks, dodging the rain, I have had to dismantle an alpine feature. A mole decided that the rocks were just right for tunneling under. Unfortunately in doing so it pused out a lot of precious minature plants and left others with roots dangling in thin air. I could not use the old soil as when unbuilding I discovered that convolvulus arvensis had infested it it too. Yesterday and today we (my wife is brilliant at deciding just where to place rocks for the best effect)reconstructed the edifice.
So what is odd about that? Well, as far as we were able, using photos of the original, we built it the same as before. However, we have now about a dozen pieces of rock left over. Perhaps they have been breeding?

I dont know about rocks, but I think stones breed.
I've been picking them up for years, and every year there's more. Cant work out where they come from. :D

Ask the farmers esp the old time ones in Norfolk - they'll tell you how stones breed!! It's a mystery!
