Odd tomato plants

    Out walking at the weekend I came across a load of small tomato plants that were just putting on their first flowers. I'm assuming it was the result of discarded picnic leftovers.

    What was so odd was that they were growing (aparently quite happily) in sand virtually on the tideline at the beach at North Berwick!

    I've never thought of tomatos plants as being salt tollerant

    I wonder if the resulting tomatoes will be ready salted! [​IMG]

    :D :D my son likes to eat toms dipped in sugar.

    A good one, Liz! :D Elaine, I used to like eating celery dipped in sugar! Same but different, if you know what I mean! :rolleyes:
