I wondered why there was no bird on the feeders today, then I saw why, a sparrowhawk eating its lunch in my back garden.
They're very beautiful and awesome at manoeuvring and all that, but I wish they wouldn't eat 'my' birds and leave bits for me to clear up.

We have a sparrowhawk that often visits the garden. Sometimes it sits on the fence and the birds on the feeders just ignore it. Our theory is that it is imprinting the layout in and away from the feeders for when it does want to catch a meal. When it does come for a meal all hell is let lose with birds moving at speed into any bush they can.

I wish they would restrict their diet to pigeons only @Mrs. B. This would reduce the noise on my roof, TV aerial and down the chimney greatly :)!
